Do stars and planets really affect our lives?

The secret connection between you and the Universe.

Many people ask us curiously whether the stars and planets and celestials really affect our lives and how to understand the same; do I have to know astrology to make sense of my life? The simple answer is that one does not even have to know astrology or zodiac signs or any such in-depth knowledge in order to make sense of the reality around us. You need to simply pause and observe the natural order of life weaved around and where you stand in this vast creation.

When you learn to let go of trained concepts of time and the Universe, and look at the world as a curious child would, then it would just get ‘curiouser and curiouser’. Ask yourself at such a moment – Do I not feel the rays of the Sun and Moon on me no matter how far they are? Arent the plants and vegetables that I sustain myself with grown by good sunlight and water? Don’t I remember from my early science books that the Moon is  a satellite of the Earth, and Moon’s luminosity is borrowed from the Sun? Remember reading somewhere that the sea’s waves are affected by the waning and waxing phases of the Moon? So these are the known and familiar aspects of the Universe. All of creation, the plants, flora and fauna are growing right before us with the help of the Sun, Moon and stars. We, the human species, are said to be more evolved than the rest of the planet. Wouldn’t the same energies that grow and sustain the other life forms, also be responsible for our growth?

The obvious simple truth is that we breathe….every moment. We breathe the heat and light from the Sun, and the coolness and radiance from the Moon. We nourish ourselves through these two luminaries and other planets. We need the light and darkness. The light and warmth are needed to nourish this soul and body. The darkness and coolness is equally necessary to make sense of the light when it is absent. The starlit night nourishes the mind through a beautiful experience called sleep. If we lose sleep, then we find it hard to find the energy to carry out our routine activities the next day. Sleep rejuvenates the mind and brings many subtle energies of the body system and aligns it with the Universe.

This process keeps us alive and grounded. This atmosphere contains all the energies, vibrations and particles from the Universe. So as long as we breathe and live, we continue to absorb the energies of the planets, stars and celestials of the zodiac.

There is a beautiful Upanishadic mantra which correlates the functioning of the macrocosmic Universe and microcosmic life (on Earth) –

“OM PURNAMADAH PURNAMIDAM PURNAAT PURNAMUDACHYATE PURNASYA PURNAMAADAYA PURNAMEVAAVASISHYATE.”

This conveys the meaning that whatever happens in the macrocosm affects the microcosmic world. Whether our rationale accepts or finds it hard to believe, the plain truth is that these forces and celestials continue to affect the course of our decisions and lives every moment and we cannot escape from them.

Therefore it is important to seek out an Vedic astrologer with insight and intuition to seek guidance for your future. The date, time and place of birth form the essential coordinates to generate an unique blueprint of a person. With the blueprint in hand, you can know (among many other things):

  • your basic nature, flaws and strengths,
  • what ailments/diseases are you predisposed to, and how to avoid it,
  • your career course,
  • your partnerships and relationships,
  • your family and children,
  • your financial prospects, luck and more.

Ultimately these insights will help you lead a better life in harmony with the Universe. Surely you are the master of your destiny when you are aligned with the Universe!
